AccuTrak Ultrasonic Leak Detector

AccuTrak Ultrasonic Leak Detector

Starting From: £639.91

AccuTrak® VPE represents the state-of-the-art in ultrasonic technology for leak detection and preventative maintenance, and incorporates several of the most recent patents in the field. AccuTrak® is extremely  sensitive to ultrasonic sound of turbulence and friction  that is associated with costly equipment faults. Using a technique called “heterodyning”, AccuTrak® translates the otherwise inaudible ultrasound to a lower frequency  where it can be heard through a set of headphones.  AccuTrak® delivers a clear ultrasonic sound reproduction  making it possible to distinguish leaks from other competing background sounds. It is so sensitive you can actually hear the blink of an eye, yet most background noise will not interfere with detection accuracy.

This is one versatile leak detector! AccuTrak® is sensitive only to a specific band of ultrasound, and is not chemical dependant. It can detect ANY gas (refrigerants, compressed air, nitrogen, vacuum and more) and can’t false alarm from stray gasses. It is not affected by wind, sunlight or sudden temperature changes, and does not require sensor replacement or calibration.
AccuTrak® is like two instruments in one! In addition to leak detection, it’s great for preventive maintenance and energy conservation. Use the contact probe like a stethoscope to hear otherwise inaudible leakage within steam traps and valves. Listen to bearings and gears for signs of friction and deterioration.
  • The production of compressed air is expensive, the UK’s commitment to reduce CO2 emissions involves among other things a reduction of energy production from fossil fuelled power stations, and it’s use in industry.
  • The climate change levy is an additional tax on manufacturers in the UK, a 10-15% increase in electricity costs to concentrate those companies’ collective minds on the task of reduced power consumption.
  • Compressed air leaks that can be heard tend to be fixed; those that remain silent continue to leak. A leak is constant, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year.
  • There is no doubt that investing in additional modern V.S.D powered compressors and control is of immediate benefit, curing the downstream leaks is the icing on the cake.
  • A leak detector is of great benefit to any company applying for or maintaining the environmental standard ISO 14001. It’s use reduces electricity consumption and therefore CO2 emissions from coal fired power stations.
  • At 2p per kilowatt/hour a leak that cannot be found without the VPE unit costs approximately £300.00 per annum in electricity; this does not include wear and tear on the compressor, drier, after-cooler and filtration.
  • Leak detectors are included in the enhanced capital allowance scheme, see www.eca.gov.uk. This allows you 100% capital allowance on spending of plant and machinery listed, bringing forward the time tax relief is available for capital spending; see www.hmrc.gov.uk/capital_allowances/
